Offer to pay refused
A friend and I have been trying to work with this company to clear up student loan payment issues and clear a co-borrower contract. They are rude, use foul language, and threaten jail time.
An offer of payment was made on the condition that the money be sent to their account through a banking institution in an effort to ensure payment tracking (as the demeanor, language, and lack of interpersonal skills exemplified by this employee raised questions about legitimacy and future payment obligations.) We were told that the payment had to be made by credit card or personal money order only and that we were in no position to demand anything...in essence refusing to accept payment.
When another request was made to provide information allowing us to deposit money or have money transferred through a bank, this very rude agent hung up. Somebody should really look into their business practices.
Rude several people came on the line in one phone call
Rude, downgrading, ghetto
Preferred solution: talk nicer to your customers maybe people would be easier to deal with.

I would keep track of who you spoke to and what you said. I may even go as far as keeping a detail log of all transaction with this company.
You may not like it, but they are right. You are in no position to demand anything once you let your payments go to collections.
They don't even have to sue you to garnish wages for student loans. But you will find that out for yourself soon enough.
they can not garnish your wages without a court order and to obtain a court order they have to take you to court.
